The Lilly Library, of Indiana University, has purchased Ricky Jay's archives.
I hope Chrisann got a pot of money for them.
Ctrl-F in the Finding Aid for "Buchinger" shows nothing. Wot the hell?

Re: Ricky Jay Archives
I suspect that means that it's just not online yet ("yet" presumes the archive contents will be online eventually--maybe it won't be).

Re: Ricky Jay Archives
The Finding Aid is simply a list of subject headings, usually corresponding to folders or files of documents on a particular subject, so that if a person wants to research (for example) "Bonassus", you could go to Box 19, folder 64 for "Clippings about bison, 1894-1908", or Box 19, folder 63 for "'Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes - Chants and Choruses', 19th century".
Given his interest in Buchinger (don't all of his books mention Buchinger?), I'm really surprised that there's no heading referring a researcher to multiple folders of notes, articles, the manuscript for his book, correspondence with other collectors, etc. about the Little Man from Nuremburg.
No doubt there is a logical explanation -- it is segregated into material that is not yet indexed, or it was sold as a lot to someone besides the Lilly Library, or the manuscripts and notes for all of his varied books are segregated and held together and are not listed as part of this collection.
It just struck me as odd, that's all.

@ Edward Pungot -- oh, yeah, it would be great to go in and pull files at random and look at them. And while you are there, check out the Slocum Puzzle Collection.

Re: Ricky Jay Archives
According to Steve Bryant, it was the Lilly Library where Ricky did a lot of his research on blow books (which led to his Magic Magic book). Apparently they have quite the collection of them.

Re: Ricky Jay Archives
Before he died, I had heard speculation about that because of his breathing having improved, but this is the first I have seen it so stated.
