Jonathan, you were asking about a vanish of Ramsay's some years ago. I believe he does it in this video with a coin:

Where would we be without Sid Lorrainne?
I've always been a big fan.

The one where he does not catch the coin, right? Thanks.
I hope folks study that video. Perhaps Andrew Galloway could be persuaded to offer some technical discussion as regards how to accomplish the pivot vanish etc?

Wasn't this video on a DVD that came with Genii some year ago? I know I've seen that footage somewhere.

A pleasing detail: On the title card, the handwritten lettering is recognizably by Sid.

The vanish Jonathan mentions was described in the Ramsay Classics in the Cups & Balls Routine and Okito Box Routine, also the Pivot Vanish in the Cylinder & Coins in the same book. This vanish was performed and explained in the DVD The Magic Of John Ramsay which I made for International Magic some years ago.
