Re: Doug Henning and The Magic Show - 50 years ago!

There are going to be people (rightfully) saying what a terrible musical it was. True enough, but the critics loved Doug and the magic, and that is what ultimately mattered, and that is what brought our cloistered craft out of the doldrums it was in. Thank you Doug; thank you so very much.

Typo in June "Exhumations"

Hi All, In the June installment of Jon Racherbaumer's "Exhumations," there is a typo in the Set Up. The Ace through King are 21 thru 33 (not 34). The important aspect of the setup is that there are 20 cards above Ace thru King stock and 20 cards below it, with the pencil dotted Joker on th...

I have been informed that there is a mention of my CGT appearance in Genii magazine but until now I have known nothing about it. Is this true and if it is which issue is it in? Or is my informant confusing the alleged blurb with the information on this forum? You appear in the June 2024 issue, in t...

Certainly. And if you care to get really deep into the weeds of the bar's history, when it was first installed it was called the "Hello Dolly Bar." The reason is that the bar top comes from a set piece used in that film.

I still miss Carson every night. I was fortunate to see the first appearance of Foster Brooks, as the Mayor of Burbank, coming on the welcome the show to town. He was also introduced straight with no hint of it being a bit. I can't recall if Johnny was in on it or not. In any case it was a scream. ...
